Hello and welcome to my blog today I will be reviewing the Ferrari 458 spider which was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor show.
My first thought
This has a very beautiful sleek design, I normally don't like hard top convertibles but this is a very nice design, But any convertible that goes past a certain speed with its roof down feels the same, its just fast wind hitting your face.
The price
Ferrari have put a hefty price tag on the Ferrari 458 spider at £198,971 Ferrari will have a lot to show for this amount of money, it is £18,000 more expensive than the new Lamborghini Huracan, which is also 3 mph faster than the Ferrari 458 spider, I believe they have put to high of a price tag, and the running cost of the Ferrari 458 spider has had a negative impact on how many will be sold, but I do not want you to get the idea that this car is not an amazing because the incredible looks and design and stunning performance bring it right back into the big leagues.
The details
The Ferrari 458 spider as you can tell has a 4.5 litre direct injection V8 engine, but it also achieves a massive maximum torque of 540 nm at 6000 rpm, Ferrari have also included a 7 gear F1 dual clutch transmission system, the engine cover has been redesigned to accommodate the retractable roof system, according to Ferrari the Ferrari 458 spider retractable hardtop weighs 25 kilograms which weighs less than the Ferrari F430 spiders soft top room system.
This beautiful car can travel from 0-62 in 3.2 seconds and 0-124 in 10.8 seconds and can reach a massive 199 mph.
Extra Fact
Ferrari have stated that they will be producing between 1500-2000 Ferrari 458 spiders each year.

Conclusion
Although the Ferrari 458 spider's price tag is too high I believe they have made an incredible car, the design is amazing and the specifications are right on the mark.
